Dear Ian, It has been a very practical and thought provoking course. Very practical, because the following day after the course ended, I saw an email from my boss asking whether I have decided (to take Project A or project B). I am now ready to let him know the decision. Thought provoking, because it brings the logical and the emotional parts together. I felt that I have been using a lot of logical thinking and have slowly ignored the emotional portion ( PQ + CQ ) over the years. This is a very useful course. If I need to ink a major decision in the future, I will make use of the “The Clarity Advantage” pen that you have given me during the course, which serves as a reminder that I should (go into Clarity State first ) considered all the options, clarify all the assumptions, and make a decision that “sits well” with me. For over 2 years, I was thinking of which of the two career track should I take. I talked to a lot of people of different level and fields, tried a take a few small steps but did not do anything decisive. Through the Clarity State Decision Making course, it made me realize clearly what I wanted out of this decision, which was simply wanting to be able to perform well at work based on my capabilities. I realized that I had restricted my options to just these two options and neglected other available options. I will explore different areas of specialization and identify a track which realizes my full potential. |

Hi Ian, Just wanted to say thanks for an enjoyable and enlightening course. It was personally beneficial to me because the two decisions I 'used' during the course are relevant to me and are things which I have to take action on with effect from...well...tomorrow! Many thanks for your colleague Hwee Ling as well, for her enlightening session on the 'emotions' aspect. Take care always. With clarity I mean sincerity, |

Dear Ian, Thanks for being the excellent and authentic facilitator for us at NUS over the past few days. It was certainly an intensive but enriching 2.5 days spent away from work. I feel that it has equipped me with a sound methodology in approaching difficult decisions. I certainly look forward to the personal consultation session if you can afford the time. Yours sincerely, |

The course enabled me to make better-informed decisions not just based on what options I had but also to show me how to generate new options which I had never considered before. It showed me (1) the limitations of my current options, (2) how to turn negative constraints to positive options, (3) change my perspective and frame of mind to generate options which I previously was blind to, (4) how to weight and choose between options before making a decision. |

The emWave machine is an interesting exercise as it gives participants some practice in achieving clarity state through breathing techniques and focusing on something positive and good in order to achieve psycho physiological coherence. |

The programme is a structured thinking process to decision-making that considers emotional issues that could facilitate or block good decision-making. |

The course has provided very useful methodology to making decisions and to challenge every single constraint, option and assumption so that they can be fine-tuned and used for effective decision making. The trainer is very effective in delivering the course - with knowledge and skills of what a trainer should do. The decision making model was presented and explained clearly and appropriate examples used. During the course, he facilitated the questioning and problem solving processes of each of the participant and offered time during tea breaks and after class to ensure that participants were able to exercise the decision making methodology effectively. |

Getting into the clarity state and the decision map were very interesting for me. Making decision has not been this constructive in my life until I attended this course. |

I’ve learnt that different frames and perspectives help me to reach better/clearer decisions. The framework is useful, particularly the starting point of having a clear decision objective. |

The Solution Sensitivity Analysis helps to investigate into execution factors, and constraints relaxation helps to provide more options to the decision map. The Clarity State Decision Making programme is a good systematic, structured process in addressing the “gut” feeling. |

The trainer was able to present and explain the process clearly but yet not too overwhelming. It was a good course with very good practical examples thrown in for better understanding. |

The programme taught me that decision making is a multi-faceted process, and the mind has to be very clear when generating options. |

It gave me an important tool to help me think through all options, constraints, and even to realise that assumptions exist when one make decisions, and as far as possible eliminate assumptions and turn constraints into viable options to work on. |

I learnt a system for making decision, in particular, the course helps to broaden my consideration when I have to make decisions. I find turning emotions into constraints, stretching assumptions and relaxing constraints very refreshing and useful. |

The course teaches us to realise options we may never think of or options we think will never work if we know how to focus and get to the crux of the issue. |

Better appreciation of making decision in clarity state. I will definitely apply it at work and at home. |

The course teaches me how to get into clarity state more readily for making decisions, and to pinpoint the rationalization behind good decision making. |

I’ve learnt that decision objectives can change over time & when there are changes in circumstances or depending on what is important to the organisation. |

From this programme, I’ve learnt a comprehensive process for decision making, as well as the importance of getting into the clarity state. The class size is excellent, the venue and facilities are also very good. |
